Madagascar , whose NOK , the Comité Olympique Malgache , was founded in 1963 andrecognizedby the IOC in 1964, has been taking part in the Summer Olympics since 1964. In 1976 they joined the African boycott of the Montreal Games. In 1988 they did not participate. In 2006, for the first time and so far only athletes in the country took part in the winter games. Overview

Madagascar's first participation was at the Tokyo Games in 1964 . The country's first Olympian was sprinter Jean-Louis Ravelomanantsoa, ​​who took part in the 100-meter run on October 14, 1964. 1968 in Mexico City Ravelomanantsoa reached the final of this competition, in which he was eighth.
