Tuvalu , whose NOK , the Tuvalu Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee , was founded in 2004, has been taking part in the Summer Olympics since 2008. So far, no athlete Tuvalus has participated in the Winter Games. Young athletes have been sent to both of the youth summer games held so far. The athletes from the Pacific Islands could not win medals.
General overview
Olympic games
Tuvalu's first Olympic team in Beijing in 2008 consisted of two athletes and a weightlifter. Tuvalu has so far not been represented in other sports.
Weightlifter Logona Esau was Tuvalu's first Olympian on August 11, 2008. Tuvalu's first woman at the Olympic Games was sprinter Asenate Manoa five days later.
Youth Olympic Games
Tuvalu took part in the 2010 Summer Youth Games in Singapore with two young people . A boy and a girl competed in athletics and badminton.
In 2014 in Nanjing , three teenage athletes, one boy and two girls, took part. They competed in athletics and beach volleyball.
