Olympic history of Andorra

Andorra , whose NOK , the Comitè Olímpic Andorrà , was founded in 1971 andrecognizedby the IOC in1975, has been sending athletes to the Olympic Games since 1976. Andorra is one of the few countries whose Olympic premiere took place at the Winter Games. So far, no medals have been won.
Young athletes have taken part in all the Youth Olympic Games that have been held so far.
Overview
Winter games
The first Olympic team in Andorra consisted of alpine ski racers in 1976. The first Olympians in the Pyrenees were the ski racers Antoine Crespo, Carlos Font and Xavier Areny on February 5, 1976. Andorra's first women at the Olympic Games also took part in the Winter Games. On February 22nd, 1988 it was the ski racers Claudina Rossel and Sandra Grau.
Until 2002, Andorran athletes started exclusively in alpine disciplines. In 2006 a cross-country skier took part for the first time, a snowboarder in 2010 and a biathlete in 2014.
Summer games
The first Andorran Olympic team at the Summer Games consisted of sport shooters and boxers in 1976. The first summer Olympians were on July 18, 1976 the marksmen Joan Tomàs and Esteve Dolsa . The first Andorran woman at the Summer Games was the athlete Margarida Moreno on August 6, 1992
Andorran athletes took part in the following summer games in athletics and cycling (from 1988), sailing and judo (from 1992), swimming (from 1996) and canoeing (from 2008).
The cyclist Emili Pérez was able to record a success when he finished ninth in the road race in 1988. In 2012 the marksman Joan Tomàs took part at the age of 61. After 1976, 1980, 1984 and 2000 it was his fifth Summer Olympics. The marathon runner Antoni Bernadó was also there for the fifth time .
Youth games
Summer games
Four young athletes, two boys and two girls, competed in the first edition of the 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore . They competed in athletics, judo and swimming. The judoka Patrik Martins won a bronze medal with the mixed team Tokyo . This medal will not be included in Andorra's medal balance.
In 2014 in Nanjing , ten athletes, five boys and five girls, took part. They competed in basketball, canoeing and swimming.
Winter games
Four young athletes, two boys and two girls, took part in the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 2012 . They competed in alpine skiing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding. The ski racer Joan Verdú Sánchez won the bronze medal in the Super-G.
In 2016 in Lillehammer , two young people, a boy and a girl, took part in alpine skiing and cross-country skiing.
