Guam , whose NOK , the Guam National Olympic Committee , was founded in 1976, has been participating in all Summer Olympic Games since 1988. In 1988 an athlete from the Pacific Island started at the Winter Games. Young athletes have been sent to both of the youth summer games held so far.

Athletes in Guams could not win medals.

General overview

Olympic games

Guam's first appearance at the 1988 Olympics took place in Calgary. At the Winter Games there, on February 23, 1988, the biathlete Judd Bankert was the first ever Olympian in Guams. In Seoul 1988, 19 athletes from Guam competed in athletics, boxing, judo, sailing, swimming, weight lifting and wrestling. The first summer Olympians were the swimmers Jonathan Sakovich over 200 meters freestyle and Veronica Cummings over 50 meters freestyle on September 18, 1988, who was also Guam's first woman at the Olympic Games.

Athletes from Guam subsequently took part in archery and cycling (since 1992) and canoeing (since 2008).

Youth Olympic Games

Guam took part in the 2010 Summer Youth Games in Singapore with three teenagers . Two boys and one girl competed in the sports of track and field and wrestling.

In 2014 in Nanjing , eight teenage athletes, two boys and six girls, took part. They competed in basketball, golf, judo, and wrestling.
