The Solomon Islands , whose NOK , the National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands , was founded in 1983, has been participating in the Summer Olympics since 1984. So far, no athlete from the Solomon Islands has participated in the Winter Games. Young athletes have been sent to both of the youth summer games held so far.
Athletes from the Solomon Islands could not win medals.
General overview
Olympic games
The Solomon Islands' first Olympic team consisted of athletes and a weightlifter in 1984 in Los Angeles. At subsequent summer games, athletes from the Pacific state competed in boxing and archery (from 1988) and judo (since 2012).
The first Solomon Islands Olympian was weightlifter Leslie Ata on August 1, 1984. The first woman of the Solomon Islands at the Olympic Games was the sprinter Nester Geniwala'a on July 26, 1996.
Youth Olympic Games
The Solomon Islands took part in the 2010 Summer Youth Games in Singapore with three young people . Two boys and one girl competed in the sports of track and field and wrestling.
In 2014 in Nanjing , two teenage athletes, a boy and a girl, took part. They competed in athletics and triathlon.
