North Borneo took part in the 1956 Summer Olympics as an independent team. In 1963 the state of Malaysia was founded. Athletes who started for North Borneo from now on, as well as athletes from Malaya ,competedfor Malaysia.
A total of two athletes, both men, competed. Medals were not won. Both athletes, both track and field athletes, competed in the same discipline, the triple jump, but did not qualify for the final.
