The Czech Republic has been represented at the Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics since 1994.
The National Olympic Committee is the Český olympijský výbor . It was founded in 1899 and officially recognized by the IOC.
Before 1994, athletes from what is now the Czech Republic took part under the flag of Czechoslovakia , before 1920 under the flag of Bohemia . For these periods, see the articles Olympic History of Czechoslovakia and Olympic History of Bohemia .
To date (as of 2018) the Czech Republic has not hosted any Olympic Games.
General
The Czech Republic first took part in the 1994 Winter Olympics with a delegation of 63 athletes. Four gold medals were won when she first participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics .
The largest delegation to date was sent to the 2004 Summer Olympics with 142 athletes.
