Cyprus has participated in all the Olympic Games since 1980, that is, eight summer and nine winter games. Previously, Cypriots had already competed under the Greek flag. The first modern Olympian from Cyprus was Anastasios Andreou in 1896.

Cyprus has sent a total of 111 participants since 1980, including 79 men and 32 women. Cyprus's athletes took part in a total of 76 competitions in 12 sports.

The youngest Cypriot participant was swimmer Anabel Drousiotou , who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow at the age of 14. The oldest Cypriot was the shooter Dimitrios Lordos , who took part in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona at the age of 46.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , the sailor Pavlos Kontides was the first time a Cypriot won an Olympic medal.
