Palestine , whose NOK , the Palestine Olympic Committee , was founded in 1995, has been participating in the Summer Olympics since 1996. So far, no athletes have been sent to the Winter Games. Young athletes took part in both of the youth summer games that have been held so far.

The first Palestinian Olympic team started in 1996 and consisted of an athlete. Majed Abu Maraheel was the first Palestine Olympian on July 26, 1996. The first woman from Palestine was the swimmer Samar Nassar on September 22, 2000. In 2012, Palestine was represented for the first time in Olympic judo, and in 2016 for the first time in riding.

Youth games

Four teenagers, two boys and two girls, took part in the sports of athletics, fencing and swimming at the first 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. At the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , four young people took part, as in 2010 two boys and two girls. The athletes competed in the sports of athletics and swimming.
