- | - | - |
The umbrella organization of the Olympic movement in Bangladesh is the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA). The BOA was founded in 1979 and recognized a year later by the International Olympic Committee during its 82nd session in Lake Placid .
Bangladesh has been participating in the Summer Olympics since 1984. Participation in winter games has so far been waived. Athletes from Bangladesh have not yet been able to win a medal. This makes Bangladesh the most populous country without an Olympic medal. So far, no athlete has been able to qualify for participation in the Olympic Games. The country's athletes were able to take part by awarding wild cards .
Young athletes have taken part in both of the youth summer games that have been held so far.
