Pavel Benc (born July 10, 1963 in Jablonec nad Nisou , Czechoslovakia ) is a former cross-country skier who competed for Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic .
Benc took part in four Winter Olympics between 1984 and 1994 during his career . He was able to win the bronze medal in the relay race in 1988 in Calgary together with Radim Nyč , Václav Korunka and Ladislav Švanda . His best result in an individual competition was 25th place over 30 kilometers at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer .
Furthermore, Benc took part in six Nordic World Ski Championships between 1985 and 1995 . He finished fifth over 50 kilometers in Val di Fiemme in 1991 . In the World Cup , Benc's best result was fourth place over 30 kilometers in March 1987 in Lahti . In the overall World Cup he was 25th in each of the 1988/89 and 1989/90 seasons.
At the Czechoslovak Championships, Benc won six times with the relay of Dukla Liberec (1986–1990, 1992), four times over 15 km (1985, 1986, 1989, 1992), twice over 50 km (1989, 1992) and once over 30 km ( 1985). He was also Czechoslovak junior champion over 10 km and 15 km in 1983.
After the end of his active career, Benc worked at the sports club Dukla Liberec .
