Judd Bankert (born September 9, 1949 ) is a former Guamese biathlete .
Judd Bankert is a US citizen. He first worked as accountants ( certified public accountant ) in Detroit . In 1981 he went to Guam as a computer consultant . When the Olympic Committee was looking for starters for the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , Bankert began cross-country skiing . For this, he moved to Bellingham in Washington State , where he spent a year with the Western Washington University team cross-country ski trained. He later trained in West Yellowstone with the US national team. Finally, Bankert was able to take part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary for Guam , where he was 71st and penultimate in the sprint ahead of Elliot Archilla . Like Archilla, who competed for Puerto Rico , Bankert was the only biathlete of his NOC to ever take part in the Olympic Games. After the games he lived in Guam for a short time, then moved back to the USA and settled in Staunton . In 1996 he was co-organizer of a company that tried to recreate the Klondike gold rush as Stampeders in an event lasting several months.
