Ernst von Bredow

Ernst Matthias Sylvester von Bredow (born July 1, 1834 in Charlottenburg ; † January 12, 1900 in Liebenwerda ) was the manor owner, district administrator and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Bredow attended the Friedrich Wilhelm High School and the Kadettenanstalt in Berlin. He became an officer in 1854, then an adjutant in the 3rd Hussar Regiment and in 1859 a brigade adjutant. In 1864 he took his leave and became a farmer on Mückenberg and Retzow . Active again in service during the Franco-German War in 1870/71, he received the Iron Cross and the Bavarian Order of Merit. In 1885 he became district administrator of the Liebenwerda district . He was also a member of the commissions for trade, industry and railways and in 1881 director of the amelioration of the Black Elster by the districts of Kalau , Hoyerswerda , Liebenwerda and Schweinitz . Bredow was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Saxony and the Prussian House of Representatives from 1866 to 1873.

From 1887 to 1893 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Merseburg 1 Liebenwerda , Torgau and the German Conservative Party .
