Nicolaus Theodorici de Amsterdam († before 1456 in Greifswald ) was a scholastic philosopher.

Life

Nicolaus Theodorici de Amsterdam matriculated at the University of Cologne in 1407 and did his Baccalaureus here . In 1412 he enrolled in Erfurt , where he received his master's degree. In 1422 he was enrolled in Rostock . Here he was dean of the artist faculty several times and was rector in 1426 and vice-rector of the university in 1437/38.

In 1437 Nicolaus Theoderici went to Greifswald with other professors. Around 1444/45 he stayed in Leipzig, but went back to Greifswald and was involved in founding the university there under Heinrich Rubenow .

His grave is in front of the high altar of St. Nikolai . He is shown on the Rubenow plaque in Greifswald Cathedral (2nd from left next to Rubenow) with the other professors Bernhard Bodeker , Wilken Bolen , Johannes Lamside , Bertold Segeberg and Johannis Tidemann .

The church library of St. Nikolai owned (1875) handwritten "Quaestiones metaphysicae" by Nicolaus Theodorici de Amsterdam.
