Bertold Segeberg
Bertold Segeberg (* in Lübeck ; † 1460 in Greifswald ) was dean of the artist faculty in Greifswald.
Life
Bertold Segeberg was probably a brother of the Lübeck merchant and councilor Johann Segeberg . He was matriculated in Leipzig in 1410 and received a teaching post in Rostock in 1420 . In 1436 he came to Greifswald with other Rostock professors, became a council member and, under Rubenow, was one of the founders of the Pomeranian State University in Greifswald in 1456 .
Bertold Segeberg was married to a daughter of the Greifswald councilor Jakob von Grimmen. His son Arnold Segeberg became professor of law in Greifswald and later in Rostock.
Bertold Segeberg was buried in Greifswald's Marienkirche . He is shown on the Rubenow plaque in Greifswald Cathedral (2nd from right) with the other professors Bernhard Bodeker , Wilken Bolen , Johannes Lamside , Johannis Tidemann and Nicolaus Theodorici de Amsterdam .
