Bernhard Bodeker (* in Hagen ; † before 1456 in Greifswald ) was dean of the artist faculty and rector in Rostock .

Life

He was matriculated in Rostock in 1419 and was dean of the faculty of artists eight times between 1427 and 1439 and rector of the university in 1437/38 and 1439. From the time the Rostock University was founded, he was friends with Heinrich von Geismar , whose library he used in Rostock until 1431. As a friend and assistant to Heinrich Rubenow , Bodeker was one of the founders of the University of Greifswald .

Bernhard Bodeker was buried in front of the high altar of St. Nikolai in Greifswald. He is shown on the Rubenow plaque in Greifswald Cathedral (3rd from left) with the other professors: Wilken Bolen , Johannes Lamside , Bertold Segeberg , Johannis Tidemann and Nicolaus Theodorici de Amsterdam .
