Wilken Bolen († in Greifswald ) was a German canon .

Life

Wilken Bolen probably comes from the Rügen noble family Bohlen . He obtained his master’s degree in Leipzig and matriculated in Rostock in 1419 . A year later he was accepted into the Rostock artist faculty . In 1437 he was Vice Rector and Doctor of Canon Law . He is said to have been canon in Schwerin .

As a friend and assistant to Heinrich Rubenow , Wilken was one of the founders of the University of Greifswald . He was buried in the Franciscan Church in Greifswald.

He is shown on the Rubenow plaque in Greifswald Cathedral (3rd from right) with the other professors Bernhard Bodeker , Johannes Lamside , Bertold Segeberg , Johannis Tidemann and Nicolaus Theodorici de Amsterdam .
