Johannes Voss

Johannes Voss (* in Soest ; † December 3, 1451 ) was a German legal scholar, university professor and council secretary in Lübeck.

Life

Johannes Voss appears for the first time in 1395 as a student at the University of Erfurt , where he received his doctorate in 1397 with a bachelor's degree and in 1400 with a master's degree. Before 1408 he received his doctorate for a bachelor's degree in both rights and was rector of the University of Erfurt in 1408/1409.

In 1411 he became council secretary in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck , together with Dietrich Zukow . Together with this he represented the city of Lübeck as the first council secretary ( Protonotary ) from 1414 to 1418 at the Council of Constance .

In the winter semester 1419/1420 he enrolled as a graduate at the newly founded University of Rostock and received his doctorate in 1423. jur. both rights. In the summer of 1421 he became rector of the University of Rostock for the first time and held this office four times before he left Rostock. He left Rostock in the summer semester of 1430 and was rector of the University of Erfurt for the second time in the winter semester of 1430/1431. It can be found in the Repertory Academicum Germanicum until 1451.
