Tuau Lapua Lapua (born April 15, 1991 in Nanumanga ) is a weightlifter from Tuvalu .

Career

At the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi , India , he came in 15th place in the final (up to 62 kg), weighing 220 kg.

In the Pacific Games in 2011 he won the bronze medal in pushing (up to 62 kg), the silver medal in snatch (up to 62 kg) and silver in the overall standings.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics , he came in 12th.

He made sports history at the 2013 Mini Pacific Games in Wallis and Futuna by winning the first ever gold medal for his country. In the snatch (up to 62 kg) he came first. He won a second medal (bronze) in pushing and silver in combination. In the 2016 Oceania Championships, he finished 5th.
