Levan Berianidze

Levan Berianidze ( Georgian ლევან ბერიანიძე ; English Levan Berianidze ; born October 10, 1990 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian wrestler who has competed for Armenia since 2015 . He won a bronze medal in free style heavyweight at the 2010 World Championships .

Career

Levan Berianidze has been wrestling since 1999. He concentrates on free style and trains in a wrestling center of the Georgian Wrestling Association in Tbilisi . His coaches were or are Tamasi Bendianaschwili, Johny Loria and Lexa Moldibadze as well as the national coach of the Georgian freestyle national team Zaza Turmanidze. At a height of 1.84 meters he starts in the heavyweight division, the weight class up to 120 kg body weight. Despite his youth, he is one of the best Georgian heavyweights, but he has two very strong competitors in Dawit Modsmanashvili and Giorgi Sakandelidze . In 2010 and 2011 he was Georgian runner-up behind Dawit Modsmanashvili.

In 2008 Levan Berianidze took 3rd place at the Junior European Championships in Košice behind Oleg Ivanov from Ukraine and Andrei Romanow from Moldova and a little later he came in at the Junior World Championships in 2008 in Istanbul behind Soslan Gaglojew , Russia and Elier Romero Camacho from Cuba also took 3rd place.

In 2010 Levan Beriaschwili fought for a place in the World Cup in Moscow through good placements in major international tournaments . He was able to convince there and won as a 20-year-old with victories over Bartłomiej Bartnicki , Poland , Marid Mutalimow , Kazakhstan and Fardin Masoumi Valadi , Iran , a defeat against Biljal Machow , Russia and another victory over Dániel Ligeti , Hungary , which he won with 2 : 1 round and 5: 3 points defeated, a World Championship bronze medal .

In 2011 he was not used at an international championship because he was preferred by the Georgian Wrestling Association Davit Modsmanashvili. His victory at the "Beach Wrestling" World Championship in Batumi in the heavyweight division, where he was ahead of Giorgi Sakandelidze, Mehman Imamgulijew, Azerbaijan and Savas Bas, can be seen as a small consolation .
