Offiong Edem (born December 31, 1986 in Calabar ) is a Nigerian table tennis player . She took part in three Olympic Games .

Career

Offiong Edem often played soccer in her childhood, but eventually decided to play table tennis.

In 2004, 2012 and 2016 she qualified to participate in the Olympic Games. In 2004 she only played in the doubles competition. Here she was defeated by the Russians Galina Melnik / Oksana Fadejewa at the side of Cecilia Otu Offiong . In 2012 and 2016 she was only qualified for the individual competition. In 2012 she was eliminated in the preliminary round against Dina Meshref (Egypt). In 2016 she won against Sally Yee (Fiji) and then lost to Viktoria Pavlovich (Belarus).

Offiong Edem achieved some successes at the African Championships . In 2007 she won gold in doubles with Cecilia Otu Offiong, in 2010 she was third with Nigeria's team, and in 2015 she reached the final in the team competition.

At the Africa Games 2007 she was first in doubles with Cecilia Otu Offiong. In 2011 she won singles, doubles (with Cecilia Otu Offiong) and mixed (with Segun Toriola ).
