Tina Punzel (born August 1, 1995 in Dresden ) is a German diver . It starts for the Dresdner SC 1898 in both artificial and tower diving as well as in 3-meter synchronized jumping. She started diving when she was five. She is trained by Boris Rozenberg.

Life

Punzel achieved bronze from the 1-meter board and the 10-meter tower at the 2010 European Junior Championships, and in 2011 she won silver from the 3-meter board. At the Junior World Championship in 2010, she came eighth from the tower. In 2010 she also won her first adult medal. At the German Championships, she came third from the 1-meter board. In 2011 she became German champion for the first time. She won the 3 m synchronized jumping and also won a silver and a bronze medal. After her good results at the German Championships, the DSV nominated her for the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai . There she started in jumping from the 1-meter board, but only finished 33rd in the preliminary fight.

On June 22, 2013, she was European champion from the three-meter board with 336.70 points at the European Water Jumping Championships in Rostock. She is the vice-European champion in board synchronized jumping in 2014, 2015 (with Nora Subschinksi) and 2017 (with Friedericke Freyer). In 2017 she also won bronze at the European Championships with Lou Massenberg from Berlin, and gold in 2018.

Tina Punzel had her Olympic premiere in Rio in 2016. In singles, she was eliminated in the semifinals. In synchronized jumping, she and Nora Subschinksi qualified as one of the top 8 worldwide for the games. The duo came in seventh at the outdoor facility in Rio.

Punzel lives in Dresden and is a sports soldier in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Frankenberg / Saxony .
