Ferdinand Gerz

Ferdinand Gerz (born November 17, 1988 in Munich ) is a German sailor in the 470 class .

Life

Ferdinand Gerz, son of Olympic sailing participant Wolfgang Gerz , is a business administration student. He starts for the German Touring Yacht Club . As a junior, he won both world and European championships in 2009 and won silver medals.

Helmsman Gerz had his first international missions in the men at the European Championships in 2009 on the Traunsee , where he finished 14th with his crew member Tobias Bolduan . The duo came in 50 at the 2010 World Championships in The Hague and 32nd at the European Championships in Istanbul .

In the following season Patrick Follmann was the new bowman at Gerz. At the European Championships 2011 in Helsinki Gerz / Follmann were 16th, at the World Championships in Perth 15th, 2012 they were initially 12th in the World Championships in Barcelona and 20th in the European Championships in Largs . In Kiel they won the World Cup . The 2012 Summer Olympics in London were the highlight of the season and career . You missed the entry into the Medal Race and ended up 13th.

In 2007 Gerz won the national title in the Laser Radial class, and in 2011 with Follmann in the 470 class.
