The German Association for Modern Pentathlon e. V. (DVMF) is the responsible association in the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) for the modern pentathlon .

The association was founded on May 27, 1961 in Warendorf and functions as the umbrella organization of twelve regional associations. The office is based in Darmstadt , the current president is Michael Scharf. The national team is currently being looked after by five coaches. The only two German Olympic champions in the sport are Gotthard Handrick ( 1936 ) and Lena Schöneborn ( 2008 ). Schöneborn is also the most successful athlete in the history of modern pentathlon. A total of around 128,000 members are organized in the DVMF. He is a member of the world association UIPM .
