The German Speed ​​Skating Association e. V. (DESG) is the German umbrella organization for speed skating in the Federal Republic of Germany . The association includes the state ice sports associations (LEV) and the clubs belonging to the LEV, which operate the sports of speed skating and short track . The current acting president (since 2020) is Matthias Große. DESG was founded in 1965.

The DESG is member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the International Skating Union (international International Skating Union short ISU).

tasks

DESG has set itself the task of promoting all disciplines of speed skating and short tracks within Germany. This includes the promotion of competitive sports through courses, competitions and championships, trainer training and further education, children, youth and support sports work, the promotion of referees and referees through training and further training and implementation through popular and senior sports work.
