The Saxon Ice Sports Association (SEV) the regional association of ice sports clubs in the Free State of Saxony . He is a member of the German Ice Hockey Association , the German Ice Skating Union , the German Speed ​​Skating Association , the German Ice Stock Association and the German Curling Association and represents Saxony in the relevant sports. The association was founded in 1990 and has its office in Chemnitz .

The SEV organized the first regular game operation in the new federal states after German reunification. The Ice Hockey Saxony League was founded in 1990. It was the fifth, sometimes fourth highest league in the German league system . At times there was a substructure with the Landesliga Sachsen. In addition to Saxon clubs, teams from the neighboring federal states of Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt also took part. From 2007, Berlin clubs were also included. The Saxon Ice Hockey Cup was played from 2000 to 2009.

After the original Regionalliga Ost was renamed Oberliga Ost, the Sachsenliga was renamed Regionalliga Ost in 2011. Since then, this has been organized by the SEV. A regional league of Saxony has been held again since 2019.

In addition, the SEV is responsible for the operation of the East German Championship (ODM), the competitions for youth classes in the federal states of Saxony, Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Berlin.
