Prehistory and foundation
After the Second World War, ice and roller sports enthusiasts in the federal states of Baden , Württemberg-Baden and Württemberg-Hohenzollern organized themselves into the Baden Ice and Roller Sports Association BERV and Württemberg Ice and Roller Sports Association WERV. In 1952, the five southern Baden clubs in the southern Baden ice and roller sports association SBERV split off. In the same year the three federal states merged to form Baden-Württemberg .
From 1967 there were discussions to unite the three associations in the country. Finally, on October 14, 1972, the ice sports clubs founded the Baden-Württemberg Ice Sports Association in Achern , while the roller sports clubs founded new associations for (North) Baden, Württemberg and South Baden.
