Jan Zając (born June 20, 1939 in Libiąż ) is a Polish clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Krakow .

Life

The Archbishop of Kraków , Karol Józef Wojtyła , ordained him a priest on June 23, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Krakow and titular bishop of Taddua on August 14, 2004 . The Archbishop of Cracow, Cardinal Franciszek Macharski , ordained him episcopal on September 15 of the same year; Co-consecrators were Józef Kowalczyk , Apostolic Nuncio in Poland , and Stanisław Dziwisz , Associate Prefect of the Prefecture of the Papal House . His motto is Wstańcie, Chodźmy! .

On October 7, 2014, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
