Serge Michel (* 10. September 1988 in Kolendo , Sakhalin , Soviet Union ) is a German professional boxer in light heavyweight .

Amateur career

Serge Michel became Bavarian champion, South German champion and bronze medalist of the German championship in 2010, when he was only defeated in the semifinals against Gottlieb Weiss . At the German Championships in 2011 he fought his way to the finals, where he was able to beat Tyron Zeuge in the semifinals . In the final fight he was defeated by Kevin Künzel.

In 2013 he won the silver medal at the Chemistry Cup after fighting his way into the final against the Chinese Meng Fanlong and the Italian Gianluca Rosciglione, where he lost to the Dutchman Peter Müllenberg . At the 2013 World Championships in Almaty , he was eliminated in the second preliminary round against Cuban Julio César La Cruz .

In 2014 Michel won the German championship title by defeating Kevin Künzel (3: 0), Artur Reis (3: 0), Elvis Hetemi (3: 0) and Leon Bunn (TKO due to an injury). Professional career

Serge Michel switched to the professional camp in January 2017 and was signed by Alexander Petković and Nadine Rasche at the Bavarian Petkos LMS Box Promotion . He won his professional debut on March 4, 2017 in Dachau against the Bosnian Slaviša Simeunović. In June 2018 he won the German championship title ( BDB ) in the light heavyweight division against the also undefeated Armenak Hovhannisyan.

With a TKO win in the third round against Sheldon Lawrence, he won the title WBC International Champion in October 2018 . In April 2019 he lost to Ryan Ford by knockout. After the defeat, his contract was terminated by Petko's Box Promotion . In June 2019 Michel signed a contract with the Berlin sports management and marketing agency O1NE Sport GmbH, which advises WBO International Champion Artur Mann and IBF European Champion Denis Radovan , and has since been managed by Daniel Todorovic and Marius Schulze.

In December 2019 he won unanimously against the previously undefeated British Tommy Philbin.

Private and miscellaneous

Serge Michel moved to Germany with his family at the age of six. He left school without a qualification and came into conflict with the law several times, which led to two youth sentences in the Munich JVA . He was last released in 2010 and from now on concentrated on boxing. He was supported by his father, who runs a boxing club in Traunreut . Serge Michel is married and has three sons.
