Hrvoje September (* 26. February 1986 in Vrbanja , Croatia ) is a Croatian professional boxer in light heavyweight .
Amateur career
Hrvoje Sep was Croatian light heavyweight champion in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2016. In 2009 he also won a bronze medal at the EU Championships in Denmark and took part in the 2009 World Championships in Italy , where he was eliminated in the second preliminary round against Jeysson Monroy.
At the European Championships in Russia in 2010 he was defeated in the first fight against Artur Beterbijew , but was able to win a bronze medal at the European Championships in Turkey in 2011 . After victories against Inocencio Caefa, Tadas Tamašauskas and Abdelkader Bouhenia , he was eliminated in the semifinals against Nikita Ivanov . Associated with this was participation in the 2011 World Championships in Azerbaijan , where he lost in the first fight against Džemal Bošnjak .
At the 2013 European Championships in Belarus he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Sjarhej Nowikau and at the 2013 World Championships in Kazakhstan in the preliminary round against Ala Ghossoun.
In 2015 he repeated winning a bronze medal at the European Championships in Bulgaria after he fought his way to the semi-finals against Alejandro Camacho and Radoslaw Pantalejew and lost to Joe Ward there . This was linked to qualifying for the 2015 World Championships in Qatar , where he reached the quarter-finals against Juan Carrillo and Aaron Spagnolo and lost to Julio César La Cruz in the fight for a place in the medal ranks.
At the 2016 Olympics in Brazil , he defeated Abderrahmane Araby, but was eliminated in the round of 16 against Michel Borges .
World Series of Boxing
Hrvoje Sep is one of the most successful boxers in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) founded in 2010 . In the first 2010/11 season he won the WSB title with Paris United and repeated this success in 2012/13 and 2014/15 with the Astana Arlans team . In total, he won 19 of 26 fights, including against Nikolajs Grišuņins , Ludovic Groguhe, Serge Michel , Babacar Kamara , Petru Ciobanu , Michail Dauhaljawez and Albert Ramírez . Due to the success in 2015, he qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games.
Professional career
He made his professional debut on April 22nd, 2017 in Ljubljana .
