Abdelkader Bouhenia (* 7. May 1986 in Carcassonne ) is a former French boxer in light heavyweight .

Career

Abdelkader Bouhenia was born in Carcassonne as the son of North African immigrants to France. As a child, he started boxing at the US Carcassonne Sports Club at the age of six .

He was French champion in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011, won bronze at the 2009 World Championships in Milan and silver at the 2010 European Championships in Moscow . He defeated among others Obed Mbwakongo , as well as two times each Daugirdas Šemiotas and Kenneth Egan .

In 2011 he won the World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro and won the silver medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin .
