amateur

As an amateur , Bunn won eleven Hessian boxing championships in a row from 2005 to 2015. In the Bundesliga seasons 2011/12 ( CSC Frankfurt , 2nd Bundesliga), 2012/13 and 2013/14 ( SV Nordhausen , 1st Bundesliga), the counter boxer Bunn remained undefeated in all thirteen fights and won the reigning national champion Mateusz Tryc (Poland) and Serge Michel (Germany). In the 2014/15 season, Bunn was German team champion of the 1st Bundesliga with SV Nordhausen. After losing in the final of the German championship in 2014 due to a cut injury , Bunn became German champion in 2015 and also won the light heavyweight chemistry cup.

In 2018, Leon Bunn fought a total of six times, including internationally in Norway and Croatia. Bunn was able to expand his record with five unanimous wins on points and a TKO (technical termination of the fight by the referee in the fight against Emmanuel Feuzeu, after the Spaniard's corner did not want to play the next round) and thus remained victorious in all of his first twelve professional fights.
