Club history

After the association was founded, the CSC was initially primarily active on a regional level. Parallel to the first individual successes of boxers, however, the club management placed value on the formation of a team from the beginning. This succeeded in 1977 promotion to the 2nd Boxing Bundesliga, in which they won the German championship in 1983. As a result, the CSC team rose to the 1st Bundesliga in 1984 and became German champions three times in the following years (1985, 1988 and 1990). On April 15, 1984, in a team fight against Leverkusen with 3,500 spectators, she set up an audience record that is still unsurpassed in amateur boxing. After the CSC was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1992 and voluntarily boxed in the Oberliga in 1993 for financial reasons, they were promoted to the 2nd division in 1994, followed by relegation to the Oberliga in 1995. In 1998 the CSC team was able to fight its way back into the first division for over a year. After the main sponsor ceased to exist, the CSC temporarily gave up team boxing in league competitions in 2002. In the 2011/12 season, the CSC team competed again in the 2nd Bundesliga, and since then the club and its boxers have been concentrating on participating in individual competitions.

Reiner Hartmann and Andreas Sidon boxed in the CSC Bundesliga teams from time to time .

Amos Lincoln, Leotis Martin , Harold Johnson , Rüdiger Schmidtke and Heini Freytag , among others, prepared for boxing matches in Frankfurt in the training facilities of the CSC .

Andrea Rzehak has been chairwoman of the CSC-Frankfurt since 2008 and also works there as a trainer. The head coach of the CSC is Magomed Schaburow .
