Magomed Shaburov

Magomed Schaburow (born August 10, 1970 in Dushanbe , Tajik SSR , Soviet Union ) is a German boxing trainer and former amateur boxer of Tajik origin.

Amateur career

As an amateur boxer, Schaburow became the lightweight European junior champion in 1988 for the Soviet Union in Gdańsk . He defeated the Italian Michele Piccirillo in the final .

In 1997 Schaburow took part in the German championships and won the bronze medal in welterweight (-67 kg). As a result, he was nominated for two international matches for the German boxing selection.

Coaching career

Schaburow was the coach of the German junior national team for the 1998 and 2000 world championships. In 1998 one of his protégés became vice world champion (D.Sartison), a second (Alexander Haan) won bronze. In 2000 one of his protégés won gold (V. Tajbert), a second silver (E. Gutknecht)

From 2002 to March 2011 Magomed Schaburow was employed as a trainer at Universum Box-Promotion . The boxers he supervised included:

His most famous current boxers include Susianna Kentikian and Dimitri Sartison . He has also been looking after Patrick Dobroschi and Maurice Weber from the boxing stable of WBA superchamp Felix Sturm since November 2011 .

Schaburow has been a trainer at Champions Sporting Club Frankfurt (CSC Frankfurt) since May 2016 . There he prepared Robin Krasniqi for his fight against Arthur Abraham on April 22, 2017 .
