Taras Olexandrowytsch Bidenko ( Ukrainian Тарас Олександрович Біденко ; born February 8, 1980 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian heavyweight boxer .

career

Bidenko earned his first pro fight in June 2000. In only his fourth fight he met in July 2002 in Seoul to Nikolai Valuev ; with 29 fights at this point in nine years as a professional, significantly more experienced than Bidenko. Valujew won over the distance of twelve laps on points.

Since 2004 Bidenko has been under contract in Germany with the Hamburg boxing stable Spotlight Boxing . His trainer is Magomed Schaburow . On December 14, 2004 he won the title of International German Heavyweight Champion by defeating Konstantin Onofrei . In his next fight he met his compatriot Volodymyr Wirtschis on March 29, 2005 . Despite a knockdown in the second round, Bidenko was clearly ahead on points at the beginning of the twelfth and last round, but lost just under a minute before the end of the fight to a heavy knockout.

In 2006 he was able to defeat two undefeated amateur stars, first the Swede Aldo Colliander, then in August he won just on points against Olexij Masikin , vice amateur world champion in 2001.

In October 2006 he won prematurely against Andreas Sidon and thus won the vacant WBA Inter-Continental title, which he resigned in 2008.

After winning his next six fights, he fought again in June 2009 against Denis Boytsov, who was under contract at Universum Box-Promotion , for the WBA Inter-Continental title. This time, however, he suffered a defeat by a technical knockout in the sixth round.
