Dimitri Sartison (born February 4, 1980 in Rudny , Kazakh SSR ) is a German professional boxer and former WBA super middleweight champion. Born in Kazakhstan, he lives in Hamburg .

His record as a professional in the super middleweight division currently shows 27 wins in 28 fights, 17 of which by knockout . In addition, he was runner-up in the junior world championship in 1998.

On February 23, 2008, Sartison won his 22nd fight against Pablo Daniel Zamora Nievas . Nievas was supposed to fight Jürgen Brähmer , but he canceled two days before the boxing evening. Sartison jumped in at short notice and successfully won by breaking off the referee in round 8.

On June 22, 2008 Dimitri Sartison was allowed to box for the vacant WBA world championship title in the super middleweight division. His opponent was Mikkel Kessler , who lost only once in his previous 40 fights against Joe Calzaghe . Kessler was WBA and WBC world champion until his loss to Calzaghe, and he won the WBC belt in 2006 against former German world champion Markus Beyer . Kessler clearly dominated the fight against Sartison. In the 11th round Mikkel Kessler knocked his opponent to the ground for the first time. Clearly behind on points, Dimitri Sartison was knocked out in the twelfth and final round. It was the first world championship and defeat for him in his professional career.

On November 21, 2009 he finally won the WBA world title by technical knockout in round 6 against the Croatian Stjepan Božić and defended the title on July 31, 2010 by winning points against the Armenian Khoren Gevor .

In 2011, Sartison resigned his title due to an injury before an unification match against WBO world champion Robert Stieglitz . This makes it possible to challenge the current WBA world champion directly when you return to active boxing later.

The next fight Sartison denied on April 21, 2012 in Schwerin against Károly Balzsay . He lost the tight running fight by TKO in the 12th round.
