Alexander Künzler (born July 11, 1962 in Pforzheim ) is a former German amateur boxer.

Künzler stood for Blau-Weiß Pforzheim, Karlsruher SC (from 1984) and CSC Frankfurt (from 1987) in the ring. In the 1980s he was the German "series champion" in amateur boxing: He secured the light welterweight title in 1981 and 1982, won the welterweight championship from 1983 to 1987 and in 1989, again one weight class higher, won the light heavyweight division. Künzler also took part in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984 and in Seoul in 1988 , where he reached fifth place in the welterweight division and the second round.

In 1987, the Baden player moved from Karlsruher SC to the Bundesliga club CSC Frankfurt, for whom he competed in 285 fights in the following years and became the crowd favorite of the Sachsenhausen family . With the CSC he became German team champion in 1990, but two years later he also experienced relegation to the second division with the club and finally left the CSC in 1993.

In 1995 Alexander Künzler went to the professionals. There he played two fights in the same year, both of which he won on points. After that he stopped boxing. These two professional fights were his only ones.

After finishing his career, Künzler opened a boxing and fitness studio in Niefern-Öschelbronn in Baden .
