Professional career
In March 2012, Tyron Zeuge was signed by the professional boxing stable Sauerland Event . His trainer was Karsten Röwer . He played his first professional fight on March 31, 2012 against Yauheni Bohdanouski from Belarus, whom he defeated in the first round with a technical knockout. He also remained victorious in the following fights. On January 25, 2014 he won the title of WBO Junior World Champion against the Georgian George Beroshvili. On April 5, 2014, he defeated the previously undefeated Gheorghe Sabau prematurely in round nine. On August 16, 2014, Zeuge won the IBF Intercontinental Title, which he has defended twice so far.
After an almost one-year break - two fights against Eduard Gutknecht that were scheduled in September and November 2015 had to be canceled due to injury or illness of Witness - Zeuge won with the reigning world champion Jürgen Brähmer as the new coach on April 9, 2016 on points against Rubén Eduardo Acosta . On July 16, 2016, Zeuge boxed for the WBA World Championship against the Italian Giovanni de Carolis . Since the fight ended in a draw, de Carolis remained the title holder.
In a renewed fight against de Carolis witness was WBA world champion on November 5, 2016 by a technical knockout in the 12th round. He became the second youngest German world champion in professional boxing after Graciano Rocchigiani . At this point in time, the WBA title of superchampion of higher rank had not been awarded, which George Groves won on May 27, 2017 . He successfully defended his first title on March 25, 2017 against Isaac Ekpo. The fight was interrupted in the fifth round because of a deep cut by witness after Ekpos was headbutted and the points awarded until then were counted. On June 17, 2017, Zeuge denied another voluntary title defense against the British Paul Smith , which he won unanimously on points. In March 2018 he won another fight against Ekpo by technical knockout and thus remained world champion in the super middleweight division. In his next title defense, he met the Briton Rocky Fielding on July 14, 2018 , to whom he lost in the 5th of 12 rounds by giving up (TKO) and thus surrendered his title to him.
In August 2018, the end of the collaboration with Sauerland Event was announced. At the same time he and his trainer Jürgen Brähmer founded the boxing stable JB German Sports based in Schwerin. Witness played his first fight under a new boxing stable on September 22, 2018 against Cheikh Dioum. In the eighth and last round he sent his opponent to the ground, whereupon the referee ended the fight and won the witness by technical knockout.
In November 2018, Zeuge signed a multi-year contract with the Berlin boxing stable AGON Sports & Events GmbH & Co. KG , this contract was created in cooperation with JB German Sports . Jürgen Brähmer remained his coach .
On June 15, 2019, following long negotiations in the sports and congress hall in Schwerin, the EBU led to the EU championship against the Spaniard Adan Silvera. Witness won by technical knockout in the tenth round.
