Giovanni de Carolis (born August 21, 1984 in Rome ) is an Italian boxer . He is a former world champion in super middleweight version of the WBA .
Career
Giovanni de Carolis began his professional career in November 2007. He suffered his first defeat in June 2008 against Max Bursak. In October 2013, he boxed for the first time against a major opponent when he lost on points to Arthur Abraham . In January 2016 he defeated Vincent Feigenbutz prematurely in the eleventh round and thereby became regular world champion of the WBA in super middleweight. It was the rematch of an encounter from October 2015, which Feigenbutz had won on points in an extremely controversial way.
On July 16, 2016, de Carolis defended his title in Berlin with a draw against the undefeated German Tyron Zeuge . On November 5, 2016, he boxed again against witness in Potsdam . He lost in the twelfth round by knockout and with it the world title.
