Steffen Fäth (born April 4, 1990 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German handball player who plays for HC Erlangen and for the German national team.
Career
society
Fäth made his debut for the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen in the Bundesliga in 2008/09 . In the 2009/10 season he was loaned to VfL Gummersbach . In addition, he had the right to play a second game at HSG FrankfurtRheinMain in order to gain more match practice in the 2nd Bundesliga . For the 2010/11 season he moved to HSG Wetzlar . Here he developed into one of the best goalscorers and the German national player. In 2016 he moved to the Füchsen from Berlin with whom he became club world champion in 2016 and won the EHF Cup in 2018 . From the 2018/19 season he was under contract with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen . In summer 2020 he switched to HC Erlangen .
National team
Steffen Fäth played several games for the German national youth team. In 2009 he won the world championship with the German junior national team. At the European Championships in Poland in 2016 , he became European champions with the German team with a 24:17 victory over Spain . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he won the bronze medal with the national team. For this he was awarded the silver bay leaf on November 1, 2016. For the European Championship 2018 he was appointed to the 20-man squad by national coach Christian Prokop , who did the preparation. On January 7th, he was appointed to the final 16-man squad and thus took part in the EM 2018. He has played 79 games so far in which he scored 168 goals.

Since the beginning of the 2018 season, Steffen Fäth has been involved as an ambassador for the nationwide campaign "Handball helps" for the German Cancer Aid in the fight against the widespread disease of cancer. Regarding his decision, the national player explained that he wanted to draw attention to the important issues raised by the German Cancer Aid Foundation : “As an ambassador for the German Cancer Aid initiative, I can help convey important messages and combine this with my passion, handball. For example, those who get enough exercise, eat healthily and stop smoking, minimize the risk of developing cancer immensely! "Cancer Aid is pleased about the commitment of the father of two, explained the aid organization. With the support of the HANDBALL HILFT! Ambassador, the German Cancer Aid has the opportunity to broaden the foundation's health-preserving concerns. Steffen Fäth is a role model.
