Antonio Metzner (born June 27, 1996 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German handball player who is currently under contract with HC Erlangen in the Bundesliga .

Career

Metzner started playing handball at TSG Haßloch . In 2012, the left-hander switched to TV Großwallstadt , where he initially belonged to the TVG Junior Academy. Before the 2014/15 season, Metzner signed a professional contract with the men's team from TV Großwallstadt playing in the 2nd Bundesliga. In December 2014 the back player was used for the first time in the men's team after a long injury break. Metzner scored a total of 29 goals in 21 second division games in the 2014/15 season. From summer 2015 he was under contract with VfL Bad Schwartau (since 2017 VfL Lübeck-Schwartau ). He has been playing for HC Erlangen since summer 2019 .

Metzner was a member of the German national youth team, for which he scored 50 goals in 22 international matches.
