Ciprian Tapu (born May 1, 1991 in Galați ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been under contract with CSM Dunărea Galați since 2017 , for whom he plays in the Romanian ice hockey league.

Career

Club

Ciprian Tapu started his career in the youth department of the CSM Dunărea Galați in his hometown. In 2008 he moved to Steaua Bucharest , for whom he played both in the Romanian league and in the multinational MOL league . With Steaua he won the Romanian ice hockey cup in 2008 and 2011 . After spending the 2012/13 season in Galați with his home club, he returned to the capital, where he spent four years on the ice for CSA Steaua. Since 2017 he has been playing in Galați again.

International

Tapu was already active in the junior division for Romania at world championships and played in division II in the U18 championships in 2008 and 2009 and in the U20 world championships in 2009 , 2010 and 2011 .

He made his debut in the men's national team in qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , which was held in November 2008 in Sanok, Poland. He was then used at the 2009 World Championships in Division I when he had to relegate his team. It was not until six years later that he was taken into account again at the 2015 World Cup and rose with the Romanian team from Division II to Division I. There he played at the 2016 World Cup . He also represented his colors in qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
