Fabian Heinle (born May 14, 1994 in Boeblingen ) is a German long jumper . He was U-23 European Champion in 2015 and Vice European Champion in 2018. Heinle comes from Musberg and starts for VfB Stuttgart .

Career

In 2013 Fabian Heinle was German U-20 indoor champion outdoors and indoors, as well as fifth at the German championships. In January 2014 he suffered a double cruciate ligament tear . After recovering from this serious injury, he finished third at the 2015 German Indoor Championships. At the end of May 2015, it exceeded the 8-meter mark for the first time in Weinheim . A week later, on June 6th in Oberteuringen , he made his longest jump to date with 8.25 m. On July 10, 2015, Heinle became the first German U23 European champion in the long jump with a width of 8.14 m in the fifth attempt. Two weeks later he won the title at the German Championships in Nuremberg with a width of 8.03 m. At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing , he was 14th and missed the final by three centimeters with 7.96 m. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he missed the final fight with 7.79 m. He then struggled with injury problems for a long time.

At the German Championships in Nuremberg in 2018 , he took the title for the second time with 8.04 m. In the same year he won the silver medal at the European Championships in Berlin with 8.13 m.

At the end of 2015, Heinle moved from LAV Stadtwerke Tübingen to VfB Stuttgart . His trainer at the Olympic base in Stuttgart is triple jump national trainer Tamas Kiss.
