Collazo Sotomayor ( Azerbaijani Kollazo Sotomayor ), also Lorenzo Sotomayor (born February 16, 1985 ) is an Azerbaijani boxer of Cuban origin. He is the nephew of the Olympic high jump champion Javier Sotomayor .

Sotomayor was born and raised in Cuba. There he also started boxing and was Cuban champion in 2009 with a final victory against Idel Torriente . In the 2012/2013 season he moved to Azerbaijan and continued to box for this country from then on. In 2014, he won the Azerbaijani Championship, the international Great Silk Way Tournament in 2014 and 2015, and the Strandja Memorial in Bulgaria in 2015.
He won the gold medal at the 2015 European Games in Baku . He had defeated Edin Sejdinovic, Dmitri Galagot , Daniel Niculescu, Wiktor Petrow and Vincenzo Mangiacapre . At the 2015 World Championships in Doha , he defeated Arthur Biyarslanov and Abdelkader Chadi , before being eliminated in the quarter-finals against Vitaly Dunaizew .
In April 2016 he won the European Olympic qualification in Samsun and defeated Evaldas Petrauskas in the final . He crowned his participation in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro with a silver medal, after defeating Yasniel Toledo and Artem Harutiunian , among others , and was only stopped in the final by Fazliddin Gʻoibnazarov .
At the European Championships in 2017 he remained medalless after being eliminated in the quarter-finals against Mateusz Polski . However, he had qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he was eliminated 2: 3 in the first fight against Eslam Mohamed.
At the 2019 European Games in Minsk , he won a bronze medal after losing to Pat McCormack in the semifinals . At the 2019 World Championships in Yekaterinburg he was eliminated before reaching the medal ranks with 2: 3 against Chemseddine Kramou.
