Vitaly Vladimirovich Dunaizew ( Russian Виталий Владимирович Дунайцев * 12. April 1992 in Kustanai ) is a Russian boxer in the Light Welterweight .

Career

Dunaizew won the 2006 European School Championships in Mykolaiv , the 2007 European Cadet Championships in Siófok and the 2008 European Junior Championships in Plovdiv . He defeated starters from Latvia, Ukraine, Romania, England, Croatia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Belarus as well as twice the Lithuanian Evaldas Petrauskas .

In 2015 he won the elite European championships in Samokov . He beat Evgeni Dauhaliawets from Belarus, Dmitri Galagot from Moldova, Dean Walsh from Ireland and Pat McCormack from England. He then started at the 2015 World Championships in Doha , where he reached the final against Pat McCormack from England, Collazo Sotomayor from Azerbaijan and Yasniel Toledo from Cuba. There he defeated the Uzbek Fazliddin Gʻoibnazarov . Dunaizew qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games , where he defeated Battarsukh Chinzorig and Hu Qianxun , before he was eliminated in the semifinals against Fazliddin Gʻoibnazarov with a bronze medal.

At the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv , he was surprisingly eliminated from Sean McComb in the round of 16 . He also lost to Freudis Rojas in the round of 16 at the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg .

In addition, he is among other things Russian youth champion 2009 and 2010, Russian U22 champion 2012 and 2013 and Russian champion 2013 and 2014. He is the winner of the Feliks Stamm Tournament 2014 and boxes for the Russian Boxing Team in the WSB .
