Hu Qianxun (born September 18, 1987 in Wenzhou , China ) is a Chinese boxer and 2016 light welterweight Olympian .

Career

Hu Qianxun was quarter-finalist at the 2009 Asian Championships and reached the second preliminary round at the 2009 World Championships . He was also quarter-finalist at the 2011 World Military Games .

In March / April 2016 he reached third place in the Asian Olympic qualification with victories against Karim Kaim, Khir Akyazlan, Pan Hung-Min and Ermek Sakenow, as well as a defeat against Abylaichan Schüssipow and thus qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . There he reached the round of 16 without a fight against Raúl Curiel, who was banned for medical reasons , where he defeated Howhannes Batschkow 2-1. In the quarter-finals that followed, he was eliminated 3-0 against reigning world champion Vitaly Dunaizew .

He has been boxing for Team China Dragons in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) since 2017 .
