Kristina Joana Reynolds (born February 18, 1984 in Hamburg ) is a German hockey player .

Career

In the indoor season 2006/2007 she became German champion for the first time with her club Harvestehuder THC . In February 2008 she won the European Cup in Prague with Harvestehuder THC.

At the 2007 European Championships in Manchester, the 2008 Champions Trophy in Mönchengladbach and several other tournaments, the medical student was voted the tournament's best goalkeeper. In the German women's national team, Kristina Reynolds played together with Yvonne Frank in the rotation in goal until Kristina Reynolds came through as number 1 at the 2008 Olympic tournament and played the tournament.

In October 2008 Kristina Reynolds had to undergo surgery due to a partial tear of the biceps tendon, which meant that she had to pause for almost six months. Only in February 2010 she returned to the national team squad. In March 2010 Kristina Reynolds decided not to play the second half of the field at her home club in Germany, but to switch to Junior FC in Barcelona (Spain) for 3 months.

After her return from Spain she played for Klipper THC in Hamburg until the summer of 2013 . She then interrupted her hockey career until summer 2014. Since then she has been playing for the first women of the Hamburg Polo Club in the third division with the aim of taking part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil . National coach Jamilon Mülders appointed her to the national squad for the Champions Trophy , which took place in Argentina from November 29th to December 7th.

Awards

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, she was a member of the German women's hockey team and won the bronze medal with her. For this, she and the team received the Silver Laurel Leaf on November 1, 2016 .
