Florian Fuchs

Florian Fuchs (born November 10, 1991 in Hamburg ) is a German hockey player . He became Olympic champion with the German hockey team in 2012 and won the bronze medal with him at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 .

Fuchs began his career in the youth of Uhlenhorster HC in Hamburg . In 2008 and 2011 he was German youth champion with the UHC. Since 2008 he has been playing with the men's team in the field hockey Bundesliga and was German runner-up in his first season. He was also runner-up with the UHC in the Euro Hockey League .

Florian Fuchs played for the German national team's U16 squad in 2006 and 2007. He played his first international youth game on July 4, 2006 against France. With the U21 national team, Fuchs was world champion in Singapore in 2009 . On November 28, 2009, Fuchs made his debut in the senior national team . With the team he finished 2nd at the Champions Trophy 2009 in Melbourne . In New Delhi , Fuchs was runner-up with the German national team in 2010. At the 2011 European Championships in Mönchengladbach, he won the final against the Netherlands with the German team. In 2012, Fuchs and the national team became Olympic champion in London after beating the Netherlands 2-1 in the final . In 2013 he became European champion again .

So far, Fuchs has played 138 international matches in which he scored a total of 81 goals (as of August 29, 2015). He also made 34 international youth matches and scored 17 goals.

Fuchs graduated from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Hamburg-Ohlsdorf in 2010 . He lives in Hamburg-Wellingsbüttel .

In 2012 he was elected a U23 world hockey player .
