Lisa Weiß (born October 29, 1987 in Düsseldorf ) is a German soccer goalkeeper . She has been under contract with Aston Villa since July 2020 .

Career

White began her career at the Düsseldorf district association Lohausener SV . In 2006 she moved to the Bundesliga club FCR 2001 Duisburg , for which she was not used. After only one year she moved to SG Essen-Schönebeck , which has been running as SGS Essen since the 2012/13 season . On October 7, 2007 (3rd matchday), she made her Bundesliga debut in a 1-1 draw at home against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . After 187 Bundesliga games, Weiss was bid farewell on May 30, 2018 in Essen and signed with the Champions League winner Olympique Lyon for the 2018/19 season . For the 2020/21 season, White will move to the English league to promoted Aston Villa and signed a two-year contract there.

National team

On May 22, 2008 she made her debut in the U-23 national team which lost against the United States with 0-1. A short time later, White was included in the preparatory squad for the 2008 Olympic football tournament by national coach Silvia Neid . In 2009 she was appointed to the squad for the European Championship , but was not used in this. Against the U-23 selection of the Americans, she completed her sixth and last international match in this age group on May 26, 2010.

On February 17, 2010 she made her debut in the senior national team , which won the international test match against North Korea's selection 3-0 in Duisburg . She came on as a substitute for Nadine Angerer in the 17th minute .

At the end of the year in football, she was a member of the senior squad, which won 3-0 against England on November 23, 2014 in London .

On May 24, 2015, she was deleted from the final squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada by national coach Silvia Neid .
