Fabio Basile (born October 7, 1994 in Rivoli ) is an Italian judoka and Olympic champion.

Basile finished seventh in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in the weight class up to 55 kg. In 2012 and 2013 he won the Italian national championships in the class up to 60 kg, in 2014 he won his third championship title in the class up to 66 kg. In 2016 he won the World Cup tournament in Casablanca, and at the 2016 Olympic Games he won the 66 kg weight class. His gold medal in Rio de Janeiro was the 200th for Italy in the Olympics.

  • 2015: Victory at the U23 European Championships in Bratislava (up to 66 kg)
  • 2016: Victory at the Africa Open in Casablanca (up to 66 kg)
  • 2016: Bronze at the European Championships in Kazan (up to 66 kg)
  • 2016: Gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (up to 66 kg)

In the Junior European Cup he won four gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals.

Private life

Basile is in a relationship with the Ukrainian judoka Darja Bilodid .
